Jason Henricks Makeup Artist SyFy Network Face Off Season 9
I'm the hypothetical lovechild of
Dr Who & Farscape, raised on grindhouse films backstage at a drag show.

As a lifelong artist, my passion for creating has always been a driving force in my life. Whether it be through makeup, sculpture, painting, or creature/character design, I have always been drawn to expressing myself through the arts.

My journey in the art world has taken me on many paths over the years. I have had the opportunity to explore various mediums and techniques, from traditional drawing and painting to sculpture, fabrication, and print production, and even art direction. My experiences extend beyond just my formal education, and the world of drag culture has played a major influence in my artistic endeavors. I was granted the opportunity early in my career to work with World Renowned Drag Legend Peaches Christ on a few of her legendary performances at the Historic Castro Theater in San Francisco, which was an unforgettable experience for me. The energy and creativity of drag culture continues to inspire me today.

Another path I have ventured down included graduating from the Master Make-up program and Creature Maquette course at Cinema Make-up School in Los Angeles in 2012. This opened up the life changing opportunity to compete as an artist on Season 9 of the SyFy reality competition show Face Off, which was the ultimate trial-by-fire experience to foster my growth as an artist.

One aspect of art (be it life in general) that truly sets my soul on fire is color. I am a huge color nerd and I am not afraid to admit it. I have always been fascinated by the way color can change the mood of a room or bring a character to life on screen. Taking a step back from on-set work, I decided to focus on becoming a more honest artist and to really dive into learning the secrets of color. This led me to working as a Colorist and Color Consultant for Sydney Harbour Paint Company, where I got to play with color every day by helping designers and clients develop custom colors, and by providing color consultations for a wide variety of commercial and residential projects.

I am excited to share my knowledge and expertise with others and I invite you to follow me on social media and sign up for my newsletter for updates. If you're interested in my color consultation services, commissions, or makeup/fx/prop fabrication work for your next project, please visit the Contact Me section to inquire about available options. I also have a wide variety of designs and products for purchase on "The Zombie Dog's Artist's Shop"

And if you're curious about my love for color, be sure to check out my "Let's Talk Color" section on this website, where I dive deeper into my color obsession.
